My name is Randal Terrell. I am a disabled U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.
I enlisted in the Army in 2008, driven by a deep sense of duty following the terrorist attacks of September 11 and the subsequent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Witnessing those events shaped my belief that, as an able-bodied American, I had a responsibility to serve my country in its time of need. I was also motivated by gratitude for the opportunities the United States has provided to me and my family, and by a conviction that preserving those opportunities for future generations is essential.
During my service, I sustained serious physical injuries that later contributed to ongoing mental health challenges. Today, I continue to navigate those realities while learning to adapt, grow, and move forward with resilience.
